Tom Phelps, USA, was born in Pittsburg, Pa in 1936. After spending 10 years in the USAF he took up flying in the 70’s. Both he and his wife, Carol, have been Commercial Pilots in General Aviation for over 30 years. Although he illustrated while in the Air Force, his love for cartooning got inspired when he began flying. His cartoons have been published in several magazines and Tom and his wife Carol, a flight instructor, divide their time between their shoreline homes in Connecticut and Abaco, Bahamas

THOMAS PHELPS, USA

Tom was born in Pittsburg, Pa in 1936. He spent 10 years in the United States Air Force and took up flying in the 70's. Although he illustrated cartoon style booklets in the Air Force, his love for cartooning became strongly inspired when he began flying.

Tom and his wife Carol are both Commercial Pilots in General Aviation. They were charter pilots for Yankee Airways based in Connecticut. His wife was also a CFII instructor for Waterford Flight School until the closing of the airport.

They owned a Piper Cherokee PA28-140 for 15 years.

Tom is a retired Prudential Insurance Agent, his wife is a photojournalist and flight instructor. His cartoons have been published in several New England publications as well as the Atlantic Flyer.

Tom and his wife Carol divide their time between their shoreline homes in Connecticut and Abaco, Bahamas.

They have one son, Brian, who is a Senior Project Analyst for B.A.E.
